An Epoch

Hello Readers,
With exams and the Christmas season rapidly approaching I didn't think I'd be able to share much, although there have been a myriad of things of which I've been hoping to.
    But today marked an epoch.

Our recently acquired dear Kittywampuss passed away this morning. He began acting strange Sunday night. Lethargic, quiet, not eating as much. Then on Monday he began having flipping spurts, which were seizures, and continued to have them every so often throughout the day. After keeping him constantly under an electric blanket, feeding, rubbing, and a lot of research we finally found that that he had hypoglycemia. Basically not enough sugar was reaching Kitty's brain. We began with the suggested treatment: small mouthfuls of Karo, light corn syrup.
On Tuesday we had music lessons. We packed Kitty along in the car, keeping him wrapped in a fluffy sock, nestled in our arms. We visited an animal feed store early in the day and a woman inside was able to give Mom an immediate diagnosis and instructions.
We ran to the pharmacy and bought Pedialight. A sugar water with electrolights. We started in syringe feeding him. Had the hot air blasting on the A/C, rubbing him, keeping him warm, feeding him. His seizures seemed to lesson, he seemed more alert, we thought that he'd recover. This morning when my dad left for work, he was alive, but when Mom got up, he had died.

Kittywampuss was our first kitty. Mom and Dad have never really been "kitty people" but quickly got over that phase. We got her when she was a day old, the runt of her litter, too small and weak to eat on her own. We bottle fed her, and cuddled her, and she became sweet little kitty who loved to travel with us. After my dad's play on the word cattywampus Kitty fondly became Kittywampuss Willow or Wampuss. Little Wampuss was born November 7, 2015, and died December 9 2015.
She will be dearly missed by us all.

For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust. Ecclesiastes 3:20

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
